Sandra Parkins is an incurable optimist, wine enthusiast and professional risk guru with a passion for trying new things. After an early career in post-secondary education, Sandra became fascinated with the complexity of hospital operations. She spent the next two decades working in health care, with slices in education and government. For over ten of those years, she spearheaded risk management efforts in two of the largest health authorities in Canada. As a freelance risk management strategist, she now partners with clients in healthcare and municipal government to help them elevate their practice.
Sandra holds a Master’s Degree in health administration from Dalhousie University, and an Honours BA in sociology from Concordia University. Originally from Montreal, Sandra moved to the West Coast in 2006 via Halifax and Calgary. She currently resides near Vancouver and moonlights as a ski instructor at WhistlerBlackcomb when the snow flies.
